SCENE 1:If Only Forever
I took her back to the same beach where, once upon a time, I had held her hand and whispered, "Let's come here again." That day had finally come.
But Sarika... she was shining brighter than ever, draped in a white saree with a golden border that glimmered against her skin like sunlight on waves. I couldn't take my eyes off herโI couldn't even pretend anymore. Every second away from her had been torture, and now, with her standing in front of me, I felt my chest tighten, my heartbeat loud in my ears.
She glanced at me, those amber-blue eyes piercing straight into my heart. I was undone. Nervous, restless, desperate.
I rushed ahead to open her car door. She stepped out gracefully, adjusting her saree, lifting her head with that quiet dignity that had always disarmed me. And in that moment, all the words I had rehearsed vanished. I gently turned her toward me, took a breath, and askedโclear, raw, tremblingโ
"What should I do to be your man, Chitti? I know I left you then... I should have told you about the transfer, but I was afraid. Afraid of the pain of leaving you, afraid of seeing that pain in your eyes."
The words scraped against my throat, a knot tightening until it almost broke me. Guilt burned through meโthe life I had missed with her, the years wasted, every moment I should have held her close instead of living in shadows. And now here she was, in front of me, dazzling as ever, yet all I could think was how much I'd lost. If I could, I would have held her tight right then, even packed her into my pocket, and escaped into a world where it was just the two of us, forever.
"At that age, I didn't have the courageโbut all these years, I've been here, waiting for you. Alone."
Her eyes softened, and she whispered, "What were you even doing all this time? Apart from going to college, coming home, racing... didn't you have friends? What did you do?"
I stepped closer, locking my gaze with hers, my voice steady with the truth I had carried for years.
"Missing you. Thinking about you. Imagining us Together as husband and wife... dreaming of our children. Every single day, Chitti."
She tilted her head up, her expression trembling into one I knew all too wellโthe one she made right before she cried her heart out. And then, without hesitation, she threw herself into my arms.
For the first time, she hugged meโtightly, desperately, as if letting go would shatter her. Her voice cracked against my chest.
"Why were you left alone? Why weren't you there for me?"
I wrapped my arms around her even tighter, pressing her close, silently promising her with every beat of my heart.
I would hold her forever.

Though their roots are Bengali, Thanish himself was raised in Vijayawada during his childhood and teenage years. After his 10th grade, he moved to Kerala, where he grew into a more South-adjusted person.
The Sinha family is charming in their own way, carrying a beautiful blend of Bengali tradition with southern influence, making them stand out wherever they go.
